Dorm room tour

As you know I'm away at school in NYC. For me one of the best things about going away to school is being able to decorate and organize your dorm room. My roommates aren't as into as I am but I like to make my section of the room as cute, homey and functional as possible. So whether you're away at school already or going away in a few years this could be some inspiration to you. 

-this post is going to have a lot of pictures sorry about that (:-

My desk area might be my favorite thing in my room. I went a tiny bit crazy this year with different decorations that were also functional for me to organize and store things in.

On the top of my desk

The pink and white plant pots are both from Ikea, the pink is holding sugar for my coffee or tea and then white one is holding candy. oops (; 

The small white jar with bunny top is from H&M and is full of bobby pins because I do both my hair and makeup and my desk. 

and in case you're wondering the rose fairy lights are from amazon!

The Eiffel tower ring bowl is from a small store I went to whilst in Key West, which obviously holds the rings I wear everyday along with my bracelets. 

Then I have a large white mug which I wasn't planning on using as decoration but hey, now it's holding all of my change. Nobody wants a heavy wallet.

All three of the pillar candles are from H&M (if you haven't checked out their housewares section yet I highly recommend)

In the corner is a tea light lantern that I got at Ikea, you can't really see it but its sitting on top of an Alexa Chung it book,  Love Actually DVD (it's my favorite) and a floral photo album. 

On the bottom part of my desk.

This sits in one corner, and once again the oversized mason jar and both plant holders are from Ikea. 

So I'm sure anyone with eyes can figure this out but, the mason jar holds all of my nail polishes that I brought with me. The cup on the the left hold all of my makeup brushes and the one on the right holds all of my pens and pencils. 

Next to my desk I have this cube shelf, that holds all of my food. On top of it is a basket that my old roommate gave me filled with all my kcups (hot chocolate, coffee, apple cider) in the middle is my Yorkshire tea and chai tea. and then my Keurig.

Behind my shelf is my bed, the entire wall next to my bed is pictures with my family and friends and of course One Direction. My duvet is from Ikea, my fuzzy white blanket is from target and my pink throw pillow is also from Ikea! I also decided this year to use a big body pillow across my wall because when your in a dorm your choice of seating is pretty much your desk chair or your bed so that pillow makes my bed kind of like a couch to sit on during the day and it is also from target!

The last thing, is behind my bed and that is the one and only window in the room. I was lucky enough to get the bed right in front of it and I love it. Around the window I have just some basic white fairy lights hung. On the windowsill I have a white cloth basket from H&M which is honestly holding a little bit of everything right now. Next to that is a wax melting pot, we aren't supposed to have candles so this is the next best thing. Currently I have a pumpkin spice scent in it and its amazing. Then I have a take apart box that holds all the rest of my jewelry in it , and my aunt gave me that ages ago so I'm not entirely sure where its from.
